Paddle where the ocean glows.
Still water, the sounds of the night, and — when nature allows — light stirring in the dark around you.
The next moon-suitable nights
A quiet paddle into the dark.
After dark, a local guide takes a small group out onto the calm, sheltered water of the bay. It's slow and quiet — the point is the darkness itself, the sounds of the night, and the chance of the ocean lighting up with bioluminescence around your paddle.
Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon. How bright it is, and whether it shows at all, changes with the season, the moon, the tide and the water — so we can't promise a particular display or a sighting. We take you out when the night is right, and let the water speak for itself.
Led by our local team — meet us
Only on the nights that suit it.
- Selected moon-suitable nights, after dark — there is no fixed daily departure.
- We set off at 19:30, for ~1.5–2 hours on the water.
- Not every dark night is suitable — the moon, weather, tide and sea state all matter.
- Brightness and visibility vary from night to night — the water doesn't always light up.
- Whether a night runs is the guide's call — we confirm it with you first.
How the night goes.
You meet at the base after dark for a safety briefing, then head out onto the calm water of the bay with your guide leading the way. It's an unhurried paddle close to home — there's no set route; your guide reads the night and keeps the group together.
Safety after dark- Every paddler must be able to swim.
- Life jackets are provided free of charge, and wearing one is required at all times on the water.
- Weather and sea conditions affect whether and when the tour runs.
- The final decision to launch is your guide's, on the night.
